RHEOSOPH FLOWS Catena-X

Catena-X meets Flows: From data exchange to application

RHEOSOPH Flows now connects sovereign Catena-X data exchange with complete applications – spanning data, logic, interfaces, AI, and governance.

Exchanging data between companies is not the same as putting that data to work. An interface delivers information. An application turns it into a reliable process for purchasing, quality, production, or sustainability teams.

That is what the new Catena-X integration for RHEOSOPH Flows is designed to do. Catena-X provides a foundation for sovereign, standardized data exchange across the automotive value chain. Flows turns the data made available through that ecosystem into complete applications — combining the interface, logic, internal enterprise data, AI capabilities, and governance.

Catena-X governs sovereign data exchange. Flows turns it into an application that people and systems can actually use.

From the data space to a complete application

Many data-space projects treat technical connectivity as the finish line. For the business team, the real work only starts there: incoming information must be matched, enriched with internal context, reviewed, and translated into action.

Flows brings four layers together in one project:

  • Connect: Catena-X data meets ERP, MES, QMS, PLM, databases, APIs, and files.
  • Store and model: Structured and unstructured data can be processed and stored directly in Flows. Typed data products and lineage preserve meaning and provenance.
  • Apply: Interfaces, process logic, AI assistance, roles, and approvals become one complete application.
  • Operate: Versions, tests, policies, and evidence remain attached to the application.

The result is not another integration project. It is a tool designed for day-to-day operations.

Four applications that become easier to build

Resolve quality cases across company boundaries

Incoming quality information can be combined with internal production, inspection, and order data. The application identifies affected parts or batches, collects supporting evidence, and routes the case to the responsible role. A response can be prepared and approved before it is shared.

Turn traceability into an operational process

Supplier, material, and product information can be connected with internal inventory and production data. Teams see which sites, orders, or customers may be affected. Sources and lineage remain visible throughout the investigation.

Review sustainability and product data

Product Carbon Footprint, Digital Product Passport, and other standardized product data only become useful when teams can verify completeness, freshness, and plausibility. Flows can turn this into a focused review and approval application for sustainability, purchasing, and product owners.

Stop chasing certificates through email

Certificates and partner evidence can be linked to products, materials, and suppliers. An application can highlight missing or expiring documents, assemble the relevant context, and prepare the next action.

These are not isolated dashboards. They connect partner data with the operational reality inside the enterprise.

Data sovereignty does not end at the connector

Catena-X gives companies a framework for deciding which data they share, with whom, and under which conditions. Flows carries that governance into the application itself.

Roles determine who can view data and perform actions. Approvals protect sensitive steps. Versions, audit logs, and lineage show which information and application logic led to a result.

Cross-company exchange and local-first architecture are not opposites. Only deliberately released data travels through the data space. Internal data, application state, models, and additional processing can remain on infrastructure controlled by the company. Sensitive enrichment does not have to be sent to an external model or cloud server.

The platform and operating model belong together

Integration alone does not create a stable operating capability. For the first application, we therefore define:

  • the measurable outcome,
  • the data that is required and approved for exchange,
  • ownership of the application and its data,
  • the exceptions that require human approval,
  • the evidence needed for operation and audit.

Flows provides the platform. Our consulting and AI operating model bring the application into controlled operation — and establish a reusable foundation for further cross-company applications.

Who the integration is for

The Catena-X integration is designed for industrial organizations that:

  • already participate in Catena-X or are preparing to join,
  • want to connect partner data with ERP, MES, QMS, PLM, or internal data products,
  • need a usable application around a data-space use case,
  • want governance and operations designed in from the start,
  • prefer to begin with one bounded scenario and scale from proven value.

Do you already have a Catena-X use case, but not yet an application your team can use every day?

Note: The exact integration scope is defined for each project. The integration does not replace Catena-X onboarding, operation of the required dataspace connector, or any certification that may be necessary. “Catena-X integration” describes the technical connection; it does not claim partnership with, endorsement by, or certification from Catena-X Automotive Network e.V.
